Station One Architects
Registered Architect (AIBC)
Chilliwack, BC | Full Time | In-Office
Salary: negotiable $85K-$130K
Welcome to Station One Architects!
Station One Architects is growing, and we are looking for a Registered Architect who wants to do meaningful work, stay close to their projects, and be part of a genuinely good team.
We are a down-to-earth studio that cares about what we build and how we work together. Most of our projects are institutional and community-based, including schools, housing, and public buildings. The work is thoughtful, sometimes complex, and always rooted in real communities. You will see your projects get built and used.
If you enjoy variety, practical problem-solving, and seeing a project through from early design to construction, this is the kind of place where that work is valued.
What you’d be working on:
Leading projects from early design through construction and occupancy
Applying your seal and overseeing permitting and code compliance
Coordinating with consultants, municipalities, and clients
Staying hands-on in Revit for design development, detailing, and redlines
Working through BC Building Code, BC Housing, and life safety requirements
Taking part in design reviews and contributing to studio standards
Who We’re Looking For
Registered or eligible to register with the AIBC
Master’s degree in Architecture from a Canadian university
At least 5 years of experience with a Canadian architectural firm
Experience with institutional or public-use projects such as schools or community housing
Comfortable with BC Building Code, permitting, and consultant coordination
Technically solid and willing to work directly in the Revit model
Calm and practical when projects get complicated
Someone teammates trust for follow-through and clear communication
Who you are:
you say what you mean and keep people in the loop
Leave ego at the door and focus on doing good work
Stay steady when plans shift and help move things forward
Care about the people using the buildings you design
Appreciate a team that works hard but does not take itself too seriously
Life at SOA
We are a close-knit group that genuinely enjoys working together. People pitch in, help each other out, and keep things honest. Work-life balance is taken seriously, not just talked about.
We take Friday afternoons off during the summer, celebrate wins together, and make time for team and family events. From design Fridays and book clubs to hikes, fundraisers, and the occasional softball or paintball game, there is room to connect beyond project deadlines.
Why Chilliwack?
Chilliwack offers space, affordability, and easy access to the outdoors. Mountains, rivers, lakes, and trails are right outside your door. Several team members have moved to the Lower Mainland and found a pace of life that is easier to sustain long term.
What We Offer
Salary range of $85,000 to $130,000 depending on experience and registration
Full-time, in-studio role based in Chilliwack
Friday afternoons off in the summer
Paid vacation and fully covered extended health benefits
AIBC dues and professional development covered
