Station One Architects
Chief Operating Officer
Chilliwack, BC | Full Time | In-Office
Salary: negotiable $150K-$180K
The Opportunity
Station One Architects (SOA) is hiring a senior business leader to help guide the firm through its next stage of growth. This is a new and important role. It’s not just about keeping things running but helping shape where the firm is headed and how it gets there.
We’re looking for someone who brings clarity, structure, and a steady hand. Someone who can take a clear vision and build the business systems to support it. The immediate focus is on financial and operational leadership, but longer term, this role could evolve into a true second-in-command position for the right person.
What You’ll Take On
Lead day-to-day business operations and financial oversight for the firm
Strengthen and streamline systems across finance, HR, marketing, and admin
Act as a sounding board and strategic advisor to the CEO
Turn long-term goals into workable plans and measurable outcomes
Build internal processes that support growth, accountability, and a healthy pace
Who You Are
A senior-level business or finance professional with a CPA, MBA, or comparable business/finance designation (required)
Brings at least 7 years of experience leading finance or operations in a real-world, fast-moving environment
Able to step in without needing training, bringing both the qualifications and real-world experience to provide direction from day one
Decisive, calm under pressure, and able to provide direction without overcomplicating things
Hands-on and practical; someone who leads by doing, not just by planning
Strong communicator who can challenge ideas constructively and bring people on board
Bonus if you’ve worked in architecture, construction, engineering, or a related space
Where This Could Go
SOA is starting to incorporate elements of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) into how the firm runs. While this role isn’t framed as an Integrator right now, it’s very possible it could grow in that direction. What matters most is finding someone who can lead confidently from day one and become a trusted operational partner to the CEO over time.
Why This Role Exists
The firm is growing, and the CEO is ready to shift focus toward design and leadership. This role is here to take ownership of the business side, bringing the structure, expertise, and consistency needed to support the team and help guide SOA into its next chapter.
Compensation
We know compensation is an important part of the decision. For this role, the salary range is $150,000 to $180,000 per year. On top of base pay, SOA offers benefits, opportunities for performance-based bonuses, and the potential for future share purchase options. The exact number will depend on experience and fit, with the goal of making sure the right person feels valued for the senior-level responsibility they are taking on.
