Flexible work arrangement with periodic travel to Sioux Lookout
The Opportunity
Keewatin-Aski Ltd. is an established engineering and architecture firm that has supported communities across Northwestern Ontario for more than 40 years. Our work is practical, community-focused, and often tied to complex water and wastewater systems in northern and remote environments.
We are looking to add a Water & Wastewater Engineer to our team. This opportunity is open to intermediate and experienced engineers with strong technical fundamentals, sound judgment, and an interest in long-term growth.
The position may be based remotely or on-site at our Sioux Lookout office, with periodic travel to Sioux Lookout and project sites as needed.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Depending on experience, this role may involve leading projects end to end or contributing under the guidance of senior engineers, with room to grow over time. Responsibilities include:
Lead the planning and design of water and wastewater treatment projects from conceptual development through detailed design, tendering, and construction
Prepare feasibility studies, including demand forecasts, evaluation of treatment options, regulatory considerations, and financial analysis
Perform design calculations and develop technical details for project deliverables
Develop and review technical specifications and drawings
Coordinate with and provide direction to technical staff during fieldwork and document preparation
Attend and lead project and client meetings, including site reviews as required
What We Are Looking For
A degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited Canadian university
P.Eng. designation in Ontario, or eligibility or progress toward licensure
Canadian experience in water and wastewater engineering, with flexibility around years of experience
Understanding of water and wastewater treatment technologies, hydraulics, and construction practices
Experience working within Canadian regulatory and permitting frameworks
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office
Clear written and verbal communication skills
An organized, practical approach to managing priorities and working with others
Experience working in northern Ontario or northern Manitoba is considered an asset
Experience working with First Nation communities and on northern or remote infrastructure projects is also an asset
