There had to be a better way to hire.
Hiring is one of the most important things an organization does.
Yet too often, it becomes about filling a position, getting through a stack of résumés, or finding someone who checks enough boxes.
I wanted to build something different.
Somewhere along the way, recruiting became a numbers game.
More applicants. More résumés. More outreach. More interviews.
But more doesn’t necessarily get you closer to the right person.
I’ve never believed a recruiter’s value is measured by how many résumés they send or how quickly they fill a shortlist.
It’s about understanding what you’re really looking for, asking better questions, and being willing to keep looking when the answer isn’t there yet.
That’s the kind of recruitment practice I wanted to build.
What I wanted OneRecruits to be.
01
Personal
Hiring is about people. I never want the process to become so transactional that we forget it.
02
Thoughtful
Understand the role, the organization and the people before racing off to find candidates.
03
Curious
Ask better questions. Look beyond the obvious. Pay attention to the story behind the résumé.
04
Honest
If I see a concern, I'll tell you. If I think we should keep looking, I'll tell you that too.
05
Invested
The work doesn’t end when someone accepts the offer. A good hire still needs to make sense once they’re there.
Ten years later,
that still hasn’t changed.
OneRecruits started with a simple idea: hiring could be more thoughtful, more human, and more useful to the people making the decision.
The work has evolved. The organizations I work with have changed. Every search is different.
But I still believe every hire deserves more thought than simply filling a seat.
If you think about hiring this way too, we'll probably work well together.
Let's talk about what you're hiring for.
